Applying Hierarchy of Needs to Business

Companies should create a culture that supports progress in Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
I completely agree with this assessment. It seems that while people ascend the Hierarchy of Needs, the climate within the business becomes stifled with issues of trust. I would think it would be different because an employee who wishes to reach self-actualization would make a great employee.
Companies should strive to create this type of environment, and allow their employee's the opportunity to be innovative instead of just doing what they are told.
