The Difficulty with Management by Exception: Knowing what to Ignore..

Management by exception is only valid in environments that are extremely stable and predictable because by definition management by exception muffles a person's ability to sense and respond.
The difficulty with MBE therefore is knowing what to ignore.

Partial Management by Exception

The style of leadership centred around the delegation of power can turn out effective only if a good ascent of the information allowing the follow-up of the balance sheets of stages is possible.
However management by exception although establishing a real advantage for the manager can not be used for all activities.
The manager should be capable of adopting the approach in a partial way to focus on the activity which seeks its support and its decision-making while ensuring the improvement continues even for the delegated activities.
