Fear of Eye Communication

How can I overcome the fear of eye communication
I am person of calm going, but when I am communicating with some persons, I am unable to see them directly to their eyes, which is important in good communication.
But though I know this I'm getting anxious. How can I overcome it?

Try it Out, Use a Mirror

Face your fear and your fear will move away..
Or communicate with yourself in mirror and learn to make eye contact with yourself, probably you don't wish to see yourself in action and want to avoid people reaction..

Eye Communication

I understand your fear because I too had the same fear which I believe was contributed to my upbringing. Anyway, I guess I focused more on the importance of eye communication that I started to look just above the eyebrows/forehead area and sometimes the nose and found that this helped me eventually connect directly eye-to-eye and it didn't feel uncomfortable. Hope this helps.
