Here is one I experienced myself:
Car dealers quite often advertise a rock-bottom (lease) price for some model that is usually sold or leased for a lot more. But when you arrive in the showroom, though, the salesman can't find that particular model in inventory anywhere. They happen to be all sold recently...
However, he tells you, they happen to have another, more expensive car in stock.
