  12manage makes me think about what we all do - and it gives me new things to think about. How about you?

  Different Perspectives and Trends in Management

  We are living in a very dynamic period of time. Perspectives change according to the individual's situation in the process of decision making.
What appeared uncertain yesterday, appears a certain possibility today. How and why?
- In the first place the decision maker has undergone a change due to changed circumstances.
- Secondly, the issue has also been influenced by the changed situation. This happens for example when a manager is in the process of transferring his subordinate to a territory which was once a strong hold of a product which now has a setback, due to competitor's new product which is more user friendly. The eroding market-share is a challenge which the new incumbent will take time to understand and take corrective action. Can the organisation afford to face this changing scenario? Should the manager retain the old incumbent or send some other manager who has handled similar situation in another market? Or should the boss decide to watch and wait for a changed market scenario?
