Integrating Social Media Into Business

Fear, I think makes people fight the unknown. Some managers may have a lack of knowledge about social media and take a defensive posture.
Social media has made communicating, collaborating and sharing within organisations efficient, cost effective and reliable and should be adopted where possible.
Like any new thing and change, there is the need for organisations to articulate a 'policy' from the outset to guide the usage of social media where the decision has been made to adopt it, so that it can not be abused and used by unscrupulous element to embarrass the organisation.
It is important to address these concerns before social media can be used in an organisation.
Fighting change never works, rather adapting to change works.
