IT in communication is obviously a major thing. People all over the world are using communication tools. Companies communicate with each other with software programs. Airport companies exchange information between different systems. It's becoming harder to imagine communication without IT. Everybody uses IT these day's to communicate: smart phones, Internet, email, Skype.

I think IT is the main enabler of the current convergence between Information and Communication Technology (ict).
As it stands now, it is near impossible to isolate IT and Communication. IT is more or less the backbone of communication, like in a telephone company, it acts as the main carrier of voice, video data etc which is what communication consists of.
IT has had a tremendous impact on the advancement of communication today.
Practically, it has helped people, businesses and governments to exchange information in different formats.
The future belongs to the complete and seamless convergence of IT and related Communication Technologies.
