Objectives of Project Management
The main objectives of project management are the following:
1. Completion of project on time (on time delivery)
2. Cost effective (according to budget or projected cost)
3. Constructed according to specifications (as per plan)
4. Client satisfaction (the best quality is implemented)
The above 4 c's can prove the effectiveness of the program implemented by the project manager. Again we have to go back to the basic of what management is, e.g. planning, organizing, controlling and directing. A complete/thorough studied plan means less change orders(planning), a properly chosen seasoned contractor and project managers means less errors(organizing), cost monitoring as required will help determine projected cost versus actual cost(controlling) and owners involving themselves help in immediate resolution of problems(directing).
