Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Management
Artificial intelligence (AI) evolved rapidly in the last decade. AI was bound to enter the realm of HR as well and be included in onboarding processes, benefits administration, and improve the overall employee expertise (Nicastro, D. 2018).
Indeed AI is becoming a bigger part of HRM:
- Artificial intelligence enables leaner onboarding, benefits, and payroll processes.
- I would like to see more AI involved in processes such as employee engagement training, management training, etc.
- The ability to automate repetitive, low-value tasks frees up time for HR professionals to concentrate on other, more demanding/strategic tasks.
- AI recruiters automate the applicant process, scheduling interviews and are providing feedback to applicants, enabling human recruiters to spend more time converting candidates to new hires (Nicastro, D. 2018).
- Artificial intelligence algorithms can now also help employers identify and remove language when searching resumes and creating job descriptions.
- Artificial intelligence platforms can also identify employees that are on their way out the door, by monitoring emails, keystrokes, internet browsing, etc., signaling the employee’s intent to exit.
The Institute of Business Smart Human Resources 4.0 (SHR 4.0) is currently disrupting the HR industry in the development of Smart HR 4.0, a conceptual framework that automates the on-boarding process end-to-end via the smartphone and other devices. Artificial intelligence (AI) automates the onboarding process, along with the career development of employees. This AI platform allows employees to take care of their own career planning, training, and developing their own professional goals.
⇒ Do you think things like automated onboarding take away from feeling welcome to a company?
