Role of Communication in Turbulent Environment
Communication in a turbulent environment must be planned and conducted by qualified people with great autonomy to respond quickly to any environmental changes. The quality and reliability of the feedback (indicators) are very important. Only with good feedback the plan can be appropriately modified according to the circumstances.

Evaluation of the Role of Communication
The first process that an organization under goes is to carry out a communication audit that established the information and communication needs of both internal and external publics. The information needs are based on what these publics know, need to know and how they receive this knowledge. Communication needs are 'voice' needs. How do both publics voice their concerns, is the environment condusive, unthreatening. Is the work environment a safe haven to give feedback in terms of suggestions, explantionsd, requests. How is this feedback recieved? What is the feedback utilized for. There is need to establish the effectivness of vertical (downwards and upwards) communication; horizintal or peer communication and the impact of informal communication across cadres (diagonal communication.
