You (HR) should surely increase the knowledge of differences between continents, countries... Their customs, education, languages, skills and behaviors... In order to facilitate the team building of different and often far away members, and to increase cooperation of employees coming from all parts of the globe.
Probably you will confront more conflicts and difficulties in the evaluation processes.
You must "go international" in all possible ways. One should also understand the markets you are coping with.
All of this means involves a lot of learning in many directions, from legal and job aspects to economics trends and consumers.
