Is it possible to use the Model by Hofstede on a company?
What I am looking for is a model to give insight in how a company currently works, the company culture. I might add some other things to the 5 dimensions.
I want to compare this to a few other types of companies, and 'determine' if they are compatible. Basically I want to compare companies and know in which way they are run.
I am not looking for something to change the company, just something to have an understanding of the way it is currently going.

Hello Chris!
Yes with a little tweaking you can adapt Hofstede's dimensions to a corporate structure well. YouŽll just have to imagine the parameters within a corporate culture, e.g. "masculinity" that is applicable on leadership issues, "power distance" to governing structure etc.
It is quite similar phenomenon both in macro and micro environments!

Thanks for the reply! The website of itimfocus is somewhat helpfull, I like what they are doing! I have the feeling that they are doing what I want to do with Geert Hofstedes model. I might shoot them a mail and see if they are able to assist me.
