I consider it very important for organisations to recognise the importance of EI and develop it amongst their management and leaders.
This enables such organisations to be more successful and efficient in their undertakings.
Having high IQ managers with low EI produces low esteem amongst subordinates and is likely to result in high turnover levels of staff. .

Improving Motional Intelligence Within Organizations

I agree having managers with good EI is very important in organizations and I think, once the ones with low EI are identified, the organization has to promote a personal program for these people to improve their EI because these people tend to disrupt the interrelations among the teams due to their inabilities to deal with their emotions and expectations.
