Cross-cultural Validity of Emotional Intelligence
To what extent is the Emotional Intelligence model valid cross-culturally? It appears EI derived out of Western thinking. I am looking for recent papers or articles about this.

Cross Cultural Validity of EI model
The EI model is valid cross culturally. Particularly, emotions, rather than reasoning, guide actions and thinking in occidental civiilisations. Hence the relavance of EI in these societies.

Cross-cultural Validity of Emotional Intelligence
Regarding the cross-cultural validity, I think the West has put too much emphasis on the left hemisphere which has not happened in many countries of the East. There are many countries of the East that have a strong foundation in spirituality and linking mind, body and spirit and this is close related to EI.
