Theory of Constraints in Mining
Hi All, I am currently pursuing a project on the application of TOC in Underground Coal Mining in Australia. I am looking for ideas, best practices, case studies or other resources that could be of help in this regard. Please experts, help me out here and let me know if there are any resources you are aware of and may be helpful. Thanks.

Theory of Constraints in Mining
Hi, I have done over 50 implementations in mines. It covered all the major mining methods and minerals including gold, platinum, iron ore, manganese, coal, copper, chromium, nickel and we have seen some very good results.
The dilemma: No two mines are the same and we don't have anything close to a "generic" solution. Our basic methodology works well, but you have to dig deep and find the real constraints, the flow solutions, buffer management, new measures and daily management practices for the specific mine. In our experience, finding the physical bottlenecks and TOC flow solution is the easy part. Dealing with leadership and management issues is much more difficult.
I don't know how I can help you via e-mail; it will be very difficult.
Hope this helps...
