This method is well known too as closed loop, a process to search root cause and adopt corrective actions. These corrective actions should generate changes in conducts and methods and be standarized though documented procedures.

Synonyms of 8D Problem Solving
A closed-loop system, also known as a feedback control system is a control system which uses the concept of an open loop system as its forward path, but has one or more feedback loops (hence its name) or paths between its output and its input. The reference to “feedback”, simply means that some portion of the output is returned “back” to the input to form part of the systems excitation.
Indeed 8D is a closed loop process.
The method is also called 8D, 8-D Problem Solving, G8D, Global 8D, Ford 8D, and TOPS 8D.
