Fayol's Division of Work Principle
Fayol argued the Division of Work principle can be used in either administrative or technical environments in order to obtain more results of any work with proficiency. According to this principle, the whole work should be split up (divided) into smaller tasks which can then be performed by specialists.
In a practical organizational sense, the division of work is about dividing an organization into departments by creating individual entities. A departmental head or manager is assigned to control all activities of the department and to submit his/her reports to his chief. The manager further divides the work to workers according to their knowledge and experience.
After all, a person can be an expert in one field, but not in all. And even if he/she is an expert in all field he/she will not be able to work in all fields and require assistance, in particular when the amount of work increases.
Normally the proficiency (specialization) of a person in some particular field will increase the quality of the work and the quality of business.
