Tips to Improve the Productivity in your Project
🔥 I would like to share a number of ways how we can increase the productivity of our project. It is no secret that some people are more productive than others. Every industry has people who are simply more capable than their peers. Here are some ways you can increase the productivity of your project:
- GET AS MANY HIGH PERFORMERS AS YOU CAN ON YOUR PROJECT. High performers not only deliver the best possible schedule performance but also are cost effective. This is a caveat, actually, and I mention it here because it is very common: adding new people to the project team will not always cause an improvement in productivity:
- First, when too many people work on a task, they may interefere with each other: for instance if many builders build a wall, too many of them working at the same time would decrease their personal productivity.
- Second, the learning curve can be so long that adding engineers, programmers or graphic artists for only a few weeks can actually result in negative productivity.
- APPLY NEW TECHNOLOGIES. One of the factors fueling the economic expansion of the 2010s was improved productivity due to new communication technologies. New technology enabled firms to accomplish more with fewer people. Firms who include new technologies into their project management benefit now from cost reductions, have more predictable projects.
- CREATE A POSITIVE ATMOSPHERE. A positive atmosphere indicates that the members of your team are committed and involved. It means that people are comfortable enough with one another to be creative, take risks, and make mistakes. It also means that you may hear plenty of laughter, and research shows that people who are enjoying themselves are more productive than those who dislike what they are doing.
