	          		When an engineer was performing a due diligence, I understood that although due diligence normally is a financial issue, in this case it was purely technical as if he was making a test drive!

													Thanks for your comment. Indeed it is also possible to perform a due diligence on technical aspects.

For example in case of an intended acquisition of a young, innovative company, the potential buyer might want to investigate certain technical aspects of a key new product which could be critical to properly assess the chances of success of that product in the market.

Of course, in case these technical aspects turn out to be positive, this will increase the price the buyer is willing to pay to the seller.

				                Technical Due Diligence of Real Estate

													Also in the case of an intended purchase of existing or to be developed real estate, it is important that this real estate complies technically with the applicable laws and regulations and the permits issued. A technical due diligence provides an answer to this question with a report.

In case of existing real estate, it is possible to also assess to what extent the building and its installations match the intended use. The state of maintenance can also be inventoried and provided with a multi-year budget.
