Identify Competencies First

I find the leadership pipeline a useful model to identify the leadership and management competences required at the respective levels.
I am trying to identify firstly the overall leadership and management competencies required, along with the levels of competence at each transition. It then starts to make sense in terms of a strong development tool.

Indentifying Leadership Competencies

@Anton Verwey: Not too sure whether I came back to you on this, but I would be very interested to see some of the models you have built. I realise that there is IP attached to them, so will understand if you are unable to share here. I believe that we need to take a much closer look at the whole leadership issue, particularly in light of some of the disasters that have occurred in business over the past decade.
