Leadership or Management Pipeline?
This appears to be a very helpful model for understanding management roles and planning management development. However, it also seems to be something of a misnomer as there is a clear difference between management and leadership. Leadership is about having a vision for a group that sets a direction that they follow.
Management controls or directs people/resources in a group according to processes or values that have already been established. So,
this model might better be described as the management pipeline.
