Well, the best situation would be to follow your contingency plan. As a manufacturer and certainly a FOOD manufacturer, you should definitely have prepared such plan.
However, if you don't have a contingency plan and you are faced with the situation of a product quality crisis, you should realize that you start a football game in which you are already 3-0 behind.
I would recommend to immediately hire a crisis management expert. She should at least have a generic contingency plan, which is better than nothing. Also she has experience in handling such situations.
