Often the impact on ENERGY far outweighs the Materials selected when it comes to sustainability.
Use a simple example: in our everyday lives we can save and conserve energy/water in our own homes by harvesting wash water, we call it "grey water" and re-use this in our gardens, to wash the car; or in our latrine systems.
In most African countries we can reduce the air pollution by running shorter wash cycles. This can be done by using compact or super concentrate detergent washing powders....
