Legal and Tax Strategies to Support Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives
CSR is also about dynamic innovation... One such aspect I was wondering is - could there be any innovation on the finance side - in general at least in emerging economies. The funding for the social sector from the government suffers from lack of transparency both in the fund allocation as well as its use.
Suppose a municipality wants to build a school and a corporate wants to invest in a CSR initiative of schooling, can they then work together?
For example, a corporation invests in specific municipal bonds issued for purpose of building a school, with corporate support during construction and operation of school? This could be promoted and risk-covered by tax benefits of the state for such municipal bond obligations...
This may result in more effectiveness in sources and uses. Is there any research along similar lines - would be grateful for any pointers!
