Mercia, AI is not merely positive thinking. It is much beyond that. It is a profound organizational development approach and one of its major benefits is the amount of energy it mobilizes in comparison to problem solving methods.
My favorite tool are succes stories. I have seen transformations in teams happen while I was standing in front of them.

Problem solving is a negative approach where you deliberately look for something that isn't working or going wrong. It's a search for weaknesses. On the other hand, AI is a positive approach where you look for strengths in the form of stories.
Stories can be about successful results achieved or when the person felt very effective even though a positive outcome wasn't accomplished. The transformation comes when storytellers realize because they did it in the past, they can do it again going forward.

AI has been particularly helpful in engaging people to deal with tough situations like, for example, redesign of complex programs, redesign of management structures, strategic planning, bringing different teams together after long periods of conflict.
There is a lot of positive proof of its value. However, it does require some learning and commitment to undertake an AI initiative.
