Involving End Users in the Innovation Process

Is it reasonable to involve end users in the innovation process within the company (during product development) at all the stages of the Stage-Gate model?

  Bob van Eeuwijk, Netherlands

Involving End-users in Innovation

I think this is a good question. In my opinion it is reasonable to do it, since end-users ultimately have to adopt/use the innovation. But I don't think they should be involved in ALL stages, but only in one or two stages at the end.

Involving End Users in the Innovation Process

End users are an important stakeholder. They reflect on the organization's production in a positive or negative way depending on how satisfied they are with the product or service, and thus on profit. Creative innovation plans, among other things, should give proper weight to end users when addressing innovation change plans to their organizations.
