E-commerce should not be viewed as an application of technology but as an integral part of a strategic approach to
running a business via the web. And indeed
web marketing or better said
internet strategy has its own set of rules which must be obeyed to be successful in such a business. The 4S-es should be considered a valuable tool for any website owner, in particular for mixed physical / virtual firms.
