Are People ready to share?

Very appropriately mentioned about the technology vendors. In my last 10 years of working on KM, I agree that culture is a limitation. If people are ready to share, only then can technology bring benefits.

Knowledge is seen as power by many which is why a lot of people do not wish to share it.
We need to breakdown these barriers internally to obtain the benifits of their knowledge

Recognition of Knowledge Sharing

People need individual recognition (by peers or by the enterprise).
Sharing knowledge could be part of the workers' job description and they should be evaluated and remunerated for that. Experts' papers could be published by the enterprise.
