Closed Knowledge Management Platforms: Against the Grain?
So, while enabling open sharing platforms in my organisation for lessons and other non-process information and knowledge to enable reach to the widest audiences possible, I asked the question "what happens to all that classified and sensitive information that staff need to retain and share in particular areas (defence related, HR, HS&E)?"...
Obviously these need to be treated with the appropriate levels of security. On the other hand, it's fair to say that the value, risk and importance of this information is fairly high, so it needs to go somewhere.
Enter the closed platforms... Enabling sharing to narrow, controlled audiences.
This really goes against the grain for me, but at the same time, I see there is a need.
