Books for SSM
Checkland has published a number of books on SSM and its development. They are still the best source of material on SSM, although they can be quite difficult to follow. Brian Wilson has also published a couple of books on using SSM and they are more practitioner oriented than research orients. Finally there is Practical Systems Thinking by Alan Waring, and Information in Action: Soft Systems Methodology by Davies and Ledington (although it's out of print).
