Is strategic intelligence the same concept as that of business intelligence? The only difference I picked up was that strategic intelligence is more military operation kind of thing. But is the concept same? Analyzing past trends to make better decisions?

Strategic intelligence is beyond BI; I mean that the strategy is not only limited to a field of action but in the daily and total life of individuals. Herbert Simon developed a whole theory about decision making, also Gerd Gigerenzer has a complementary proposal for Simon´s.

I believe BI is all about providing a company with decision making capabilities and help them to understand the market strength. SI is about informing strategic planning and different ways of implementing the plan to bring in various profitable changes in your company.
