What is Multi-brand Loyalty?

Multi Brand Loyalty" is the phenomenon where people are loyal to a few, several or multiple brands for a product or service category. So, there is only a certain number of brands which the customer buys alternatively.
For example - coffee. A customer would buy either brand X or Y out of the dozens of options available, but would not easily go for any other brand.
