Different Belbin Team Members
If team members already understand their team's profile and the unique roles each member brings, then it should be a positive thing for a new team member with different team strengths to add those to the team. The great thing about team role theory is the ability to identify and understand the diversity of people's strengths. Ensure the current team is reminded of their member's strengths and welcome the new team member and his/her unique contribution.

Introducing a New Member with a Belbin Profile That is Different from the Teams'
If the new team member exhibits traits that runs at variance with the rest of the team members and tends to promote improper interaction and communication amongst them, this can lead to conflict which can affect the overall success of the project. This is because the role and responsibility of a team member complements those of the other members and the success or failure of one affects the rest.
