Is the BCG Matrix useful for start-ups having only one product?

Use of BCG Matrix by Start-up Company with a Single Product

Clearly you are right to argue the BCG Matrix is completely useless for start-up companies having just one product. The BCG Matrix is aimed at large corporations having several multiple major product lines.
