DICE Framework Criticisms
1. The DICE framework is a good effort to measure a change process more objectively. However, the DICE factors such as duration, integrity, commitment and effort which are termed as hard factors are essential
subjective parameters depending on individual or group judgement. The DICE score can be different by two different analysts for a given change initiative project.
2. Also, the
soft factors such as vision, leadership, culture and motivation can overwhelmingly influence a change initiative.
Change is a constantly dynamic concept. However, to predict the result it is always better to experiment change in smaller groups or departments giving necessary inputs and measure the outcome periodically in medium and long term. This can give a better picture of winnability of a change initiative when applied in entire organization. The DICE model could be highly misleading.
