Advantages of RBV (benefits)

The resource based view of the firm is a terrific tool for analyzing the presence, or lack thereof, of wealth-creating mechanisms within a given company.
When one combines results from those analyses with a company's existing incentives program and with results from customer-loyalty surveys, well, it's a world-beater where 'alignment' is concerned, too.
All in all, the RBV is the most important strategy construct to have come to the fore in the last 30 years. It's truly spectacular.

Resource Based View of the Firm

Good comments. I would add a comparison with competition on the basis of determinant attributes using a snake diagram.
Determinant attributes are the attributes of a product and/or service which are most important to the buyer.
The Snake Diagram is a diagram which compares attributes of closest competitive offerings on a scale. It gives an excellent image for developing effective strategy. You may contact me for further information.
