As an auditor I report to my manager serious notices or problems in our company. In my reports I write both the problem and how I solved it. The issue is that he refuses to include my notes in his report to the board of directors, saying it's not important (for example I discovered a mistake with $100,000). I think in your case there exists a bad relationship between the manager and the auditor. As an internal auditor, it is your duty to vet all payments with their vouchers. So, the question is, where were you when there was an embezzlement or what you call a mistake of $100,000? If your authority was undermined, you have to stand firm to your authority. Be more principled and disciplined on your work.
