A Problem Solving Based Team Model with Action-Centered Leadership
Supriyono, Lecturer, Indonesia, Member
This Action-Centered Leadership model is applicable for supporting the ultimate company goals by allowing room for creativity to reach the goals with a problem solving mode of team work. I experienced doing this when I had to support achieving the company goals by doing people development in which I had to manage the employees' competency and performance. Each group with its own group leader had opportunities to solve their own problems and contribute for better performance.
Several group leaders were managed and led by a Supervisor for further help and doing the action centered team work. Such Supervisor went up to Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, General Superintendent, to Manager and the top Leader of the company. Problems were successfully managed and solved in the lowest level and fastest time.
Uniquely, we also considered the readiness of our followers and as such we also practiced Situational Leadership.
