Note that where Abell's model is talking about "technologies", that should not be taken literally, but should be interpreted more broadly, as: How / In what ways will the customer functions and needs be fulfilled by this firm?
In addition to technologies that are used to manufacture a product, there are also other types of "technologies" that are used to market and sell a product in its market. For example, think of how marketing research is done, how marketing campaigns is conducted, how support is given to customers, how the products are sold (internet, sales reps, shops, etc.).
