NEW I work for a non-asset 3PL and manage the carrier side of the business. Our customers are coming to us for cost savings as the primary focus.
I seek asset-based carriers to handle the dedicated business we already have and I also want to put out requests for bid of new business as well as rebid our current business to get better pricing and more reliable asset based carriers.
What methods do you take to find additional carriers with reliable service and what's your process to work with them on bids for dedicated freight where they provide us competitive rates and reliable service?
We have already joined local transportation clubs to network and build relationships with carriers. We also do regular face-to-face meetings with carriers local to us to improve upon those relationships.
