Democratizing Communication in Organizations

Organizations Need Top-down and down-top communication in which the issue and not the Boss determines the information flow.

In contemporary management, workers efficiency in any setting depends a lot on effective communication. But productivity is often hampered in organizations due to communication failure without the management realizing this.
Most workers tends to be tied to their ego, with each person wanting to be seen as the best or doing the best. In a circumstance like this everyone need to be shown some respect or better still appreciation, and encouraged to communicate his/her view upward as if to say he/she is actually the best or doing the best.
Perhaps the most effective way to show this respect or appreciation is by simply keeping in touch with each worker. An ordinary telephone call to say hi or thank you from the Boss can do a lot of magic! However, when a superior selectively communicates with the workers, especially out of his own prejudice, it can result in serious harm to efficiency.
Even if selective communication can sometimes not be avoided. In that case, let the issues to be communicated upon and not the Boss select the audience.
The best from a worker can only be enjoyed by his employer if such worker is willing to bring out his best. And how do you evoke the best from your employee? Simple... by democratizing communication!
