Certain people are obviously born with ambition, desire to achieve and innate capacity to relate to people. However, certain circumstances and people must be present to boost those charismatic people into development their capacity to lead, and, become leaders like the example of Alexander the Great.
The eternal wondering, the question that it has been going on and on, and thousands of answers haven’t been able yet to define a solid answer that is acceptable of all. Furthermore, all of the answers that they have been given are highly right as well as highly debateable. Different approaches to the subject result different outcome. Well, let’s travel once again over the eternal question to find out what this time has for an answer.
Leaders are both ‘born’ and ‘made’, Neuschel R. P. (2005). A reasonably intelligent person with adequate drive and natural capacity to relate to people can develop (and be developed) into a qualified leader. This is the A (Alfa) for the beginning of the journey towards the top. To that extend a leader is born, there some very fundamental elements of character and personality that will importantly shape –and yes, limit or enhance- the quality and extend of ultimate leadership performance of a person. These might include such integral qualities as endurance, integrity, desire, self-drive, self-motivation, and an inner sense of responsibility and last but not least a natural sensitivity to people.
The important point here is to recognize that many people have inherited the basic row material inside them but never have had the opportunity to develop. In addition, there are people with potential that may never be into a position where the opportunity to lead arises in the horizon. As an old Greek-navy quota goes ‘A calm sea does not make a skilled sailor’. There are three important aspects must be examined here, beginning with the fact that there are people with leadership potential between us, then move onto that all of them have the special qualities mentioned above and finish with something even more essential, that humans ever since existed they had the need to have a leader.
One of the finest examples that the world know is Alexander the Great. Alexander was the last piece of the puzzle Aristotle, Plato and Socrates. It took three great philosophers and the right timing for Alexander to become the 1st Great leader ever in history. Also, the fact that Alexander was surrounded by the best board of elite people that his father had in his administration as counsellors, generals and the whole Greece united at the time. He was charismatic leader and all people showed total devotion to him. All this faith to him simply created an Alexander who, had compelling vision, Developed creative strategy responsive to enemy strengths, Create well-round executive role constellation and Model excellence, Encouraged innovation and Managed meaning to foster group identification, Encouraged and supported follower, Planned for succession and Created mechanism of organization governance, Kets de Vries and Engellau (2004). He must be an example for any modern leader in business and politics throughout the world.
Certain people are obviously born with ambition, desire to achieve and innate capacity to relate to people. However, certain circumstances and people must be present to boost those charismatic people into development their capacity to lead, and, become leaders like the example of Great Alexander. Thus, it isn’t known the exact equation of presentences but leaders are partly born and partly made.
