BPR and ISO 9001 have similarity and differences as I found out and their focuse on the customer, involvement of people, processe approach etc. But I am confused is that which of them should be implemented first in any organization?
I belive by what is said about BPR by Mr. Peter Carter ithe Managing Director of Corporate Information Systems Ltd. "Business process reengineering (often referred to by the acronym BPR) is the main way in which organizations become more efficient and modernize. Business process reengineering transforms an organization in ways that directly affect performance". ISO 9001 is custmer focused management system adopting a process approach method to establish and implement the requirements of the standard for all types and sizes of organizations. ISO 9001 integrates a continual improvement requirement and BPR a one time improvement or ... What I am not clear about now is that the relationship of these two tools and their implementation priority in an orgainzation is it BPR to be first implemented or ISO 9001 or can they be implemented at the same time? If any body has asuggestion or oppinion about my concern please donot hesitate reply and have your view.
