Synergy of BPR and ISO QMS Principles and practices
My interest is in synergizing BPR with ISO 9001 QMS principles and practices. I'm looking at using the ISO 9001 Model in reengineering company's various operations. At the moment I'm working on this approach on a recently corporatized government agency in Malaysia. So far it seems to work quite well even though a lot of customization is required before it is workable. I find the ISO 9001 Model is a good start to initiate changes in many processes. A good understanding of the ISO 9001 standards requirement really helps. Acceptance among the process owners of the proposed changes is good since documented procedures are comprehensive and relevant references to other documents are available. Leadership is important in setting the mood towards change. Empowerment is critical for appreciation and support from the staff. Many a time the challenge to top management is in getting support from the staff because of lack of understanding and the perception of more work.
Anyone with relevant experience in this, can you share it with me?
