Training should give exposure to many models, viewpoints, successes and failures

I find it interesting that so many executive level training programs tell you who you must be to be a successful leader: traits, characteristics, styles, methodologies,.... when in fact, great leaders are going to arrive at those decisions on their own and create their own thoughts on the matters. I feel as a facilitator of executive level leadership programs, it is imperative that I provide these individuals with as many different viewpoints as possible, expose them to as many successful and unsuccessful leaders as possible and then help them to formulate who they will be as a leader.
