Change management is the wrong word

We can't manage change.

In our thinking based on the scientific management of the 20st century we have come to the belief that we can manage change. Nothing is less true. People can change, but we can't change people. In this new century where people are more individual and self-conscious we need a new paradigm about the art of change.

I believe that the new buzz words in change temptation, ambition and self-realization. To get real sustainable change we need to create a tempting image of the future. We have to invite people with and ambition and the will to self-realization to realize that tempting image. In my view this way of change contradicts the idea of change management.
