Adapt best practices - share your knowledgeKnowledge sharing Knowledge sharing as described by many is something that occurs when people voluntarily shows interest to share their expertise, knowledge with another with an intent to create a culture of learning process. In an organisational perspective it forms part of Knowledge Management initiative. Any success or failure of an organisation will largely depend upon the culture, values, attributes, and habits of its team members. In today's competitve world, every business unit will have to use everykind of innovative techniques/methods in bringing out the very best from it's team members. In this process "knowledge sharing" is a widely regarded effective tool. It's very important for the organisation to have a open minded culture where people shouldnt refrain themselves to share their knowledge to others. In other words,process of knowledge sharing starts at the individual wheter he is a top exectuve, middile leve manager, technician, receptionist and so on. Every one has to play their role in reaching overal objectives of the organisation. Hence every one has certain level of influence in the process. At their level, they shouldnt have an objection to share their views, thoughts, opinions, suggestions, on certain business parameters within their own sphere. Why knowledge share? Its a learning culture Identify hidden talent With a back drop of these, various organisations continously encourage their employees to tell the success stories, best practice that they adapt for this, and so on. In the process the hidden talent of the individual is exposed and also others can get motivated by this and they be influenced to adapt the practices that's already been excercised. What is more important is that how well organisation motivate the employees to come forward and share. Proper reward system will also work well to support this efforts. Knowledge has a very little span to live with. If it is not used in time, it perishes. Talent needs to be identified and rewarded accordingly. If implemented well, the practice of sharing knowledge will yeild excellent results in terms of utilising best available talent from the individuals but also help the organisation to attain goals set for. What needs from the organisation point of view is consistant efforts to motivate the people and prepare them to adapt best practices. |
