Management should be done by design and not by default

Management is a tricky affair. You need a good guidance to move through the maze of challenges facing you all the time.
My guidance stems from the principle of "Manage by Design and not by Default".

I have found in the past that managing by design which basically means that you need to adopt a deliberate thinking on how the action you are going to take will affect for example staff morale, or customer satisfaction or cost control on the action itself and so forth... positive outcomes of good leadership at work.

In a nutshell this can be broken down to pro-activity, planning and thinking to accomplish good results.
Even if you have a lot of knowledge/training/aura/etc, do not think that just because of all these attributes, things are just going to fall in place - you are being delusional.
