The Importance of Common Sense in Management
Paul Heise , CEO, Netherlands

Whichever strategy you apply, never forget COMMON SENSE.

Too many (young) executives hold one or more strategic principles as the Ultimate Truth.
My suggestion is that there is no absolute truth, just facts that can be interpreted in many ways, and a variety of views from intelligent people.
Often the choice of one instrument over another is not so much the critical issue, but the conscientious (not strict) usage of the selected instrument.
Keeping your common sense as to the limits of managerial instruments, and the consistency in applying the instrument are key to success.
