Was ist Business Intelligence? Definition

Business Intelligence (BI) versucht bessere Unternehmensentscheidungen durch den Gebrauch von einer ausgedehnten Kategorie von Management-Informationssystemen, Anwendungen und Technologien für die Erfassung, die Speicherung, das Analysieren und das zur Verfügung stellen des Datenzugangs zu treffen. BI verwendet fristgerechte und genaue Informationen, um Entscheidungen zu treffen.



Typische BI Tätigkeiten

Gewöhnlich schließen BI Tätigkeiten Entscheidungsunterstützung, Anfrage und Berichterstattung, analytische Online-Verarbeitung, statistische Analysen, Voraussagen und Data Mining ein. BI stellt jene Systeme dar, die Firmen helfen, zu verstehen, was das Unternehmen erfolgreich macht und hilft, die zukünftige Auswirkung der gegenwärtigen Entscheidungen vorauszusagen. Diese Systeme spielen eine Schlüsselrolle im strategischen Planungsprozess des Unternehmens.


Typische Business Intelligence-Anwendungen

Typische BI Systeme sind: Kundenprofilierung, Warenkorbanalyse, Anti-Geldwäsche, Anti-Betrug, Kundenkontaktanalyse, Marktsegmentierung, Credit Scoring, Produktrentabilität, Warenbestandsbewegung sowie bestimmte gefahrenbezogene Anwendungen.

BI Software stellt Managern bessere Lenkungsinformationen zur Verfügung und ermöglicht ihnen somit bessere Unternehmensentscheidungen zu treffen und führt schließlich zu erhöhter Aktionärs- und Stakeholder-Wertschaffung.
